CBS Podcast – Shalom L’Tziyyon

Rabbi David Chapman hosts a podcast from Congregation Beth Shalom!

The name, Shalom L’Tziyyon, references our synagogue name, but also our eternal hope that peace will come to the land of Zion. In each episode, Rabbi Chapman will interview Israelis about their life and work, their experience over the last few years, and what they hope for in the future, along with questions from the community.

Episodes drop at the end of each month.

Episode 2 has dropped!

Shalom L’Tziyyon is available at Descript (video and audio) Apple Podcasts (audio) and Spotify (audio)!

Rabbi Chapman’s next guest is Ariella Newberger. Ariella made aliyah to Israel from New York several years ago.  She has worked in Ed Tech and cybersecurity, and she currently volunteers with Israel’s new B’Yachad (Together) political party, led by former Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid.

Episode 1 is now available!

Rabbi Chapman’s first guest was Ofer Bavly, JUF Vice President and Director General of the JUF Israel Office. Ofer is a third-generation Israeli diplomat and a noted expert both foreign and domestic affairs in Israel. Ofer helps lead JUF’s grantmaking programs throughout Israel, enabling Chicagoans to make a difference on the ground. Through Ofer’s leadership, JUF has been instrumental in the revitalization of Kibbutz Nir Oz following Oct. 7.
