CBS USY

CBS USY

The Congregation Beth Shalom USY chapter is called CBS USY.  CBS USY has one of the largest memberships in the Chicago region, and is open to Jewish 9th-12th graders. We sponsor more than 35 programs annually, with a weekly lounge night on Thursday nights to hang out with friends in the Gloss Youth Lounge.  Programs are planned by a board of USYers with the help of our USY advisors.

We also strongly encourage participation in Regional and International Conventions and International summer programs. We always have large delegations attend regional events including various weekend-long KINNUSIM (conventions) and a weeklong International Convention, as well as summer pilgrimages to Israel, Spain, Italy, Poland and Eastern Europe, and the popular USY-On-Wheels Program.

CBS USY encourages programs that focus on issues of social justice, tzedakah, Israel advocacy, and Judaism as a religion, while developing a strong Jewish identity in our membership and having fun!

Meet the CBS USY Executive Board

Being on the USY Executive Board is a great way for teens to develop leadership experience, become more involved in USY as well as the synagogue community, make new friends, and have fun!  The CBS USY Executive Board plans all CBS USY programs for the year with the help of the Youth Director and Youth Advisors.
